Wayan Vota is passionate about technology and international development. He is convinced that information and communications technology (ICT) can accelerate the social and economic advancement of the developing world.
Wayan is a co-founder of Kurante. Previously, he was senior staff at Development Gateway and Inveneo, and a consultant to infoDev at the World Bank. He co-founded Kurante, ICTworks, ICT4Djobs, Technology Salon, Educational Technology Debate, and OLPC News. His 18 years of experience includes technology solution assessment and design, and the sustainable deployment of ICT interventions around the world for USAID, UNICEF, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, PricewaterhouseCoopers, the World Bank, and the Government of Jordan.

Wayan has addressed the Clinton Global Initiative, the International Telecommunications Union, the World Summit on Information Society, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, and the Government of Queensland on sustainable deployment methodologies. He is a Technology Museum Laureate, Global Social Business Incubator Alumni, and DevEx International Development Leader. He is also on the international board of VSO and the advisory board of Souktel and organizing committee for Beyond Access.
